Katherine Rutter grew up in a rural home in Arkansas, the 4th of six children. Regarding the relationship with her family’s animals, the way they were raised, sometimes doted upon, and sometimes killed (often by another animal), certainly has had an effect on the way she observes the world and our place within it.
