Kris Lewis began dreaming and flailing atop this lovely carnival ride in 1978, in the great surround of the Jersey shore. Growing up in a family that included 6 brothers and 1 sister provided ample fodder for his creative appetite, weaving an existence replete with love, conflict, beauty, tradition and classic Jersey brawls.

I am someone who has never taken an art class in my life but have stumbled upon making Book Art / Book Origami. I didn’t think I had an artistic bone in my body and never thought of myself as creative. I had seen the Readers Digest christmas trees and wondered if it was possible to create a different design or use words.

Chris Scarborough

Exhibiting since 2000, Chris Scarborough has received reviews and been included in such surveys as Planet Magazine (2009), Hi Fructose Magazine (2009), NY Arts Magazine (2007 & 2006), ArtPapers Magazine (2006 & 2005), and New American Paintings (2010, 2008, 2004 and 2001) among others.

He has had recent solo exhibitions at Marcia Wood Gallery in Atlanta, Curator’s Office in Washington D.C., and Foley Gallery in New York City. He has also participated in group exhibitions and art fairs in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Miami, Atlanta, London and Tokyo among others.

Scarborough’s work is part of numerous private and public collections including the Tennessee State Museum, 21C Museum, and the Tullman Collection, and is a recipient of the 2008 Artist Fellowship for the state of Tennessee. Scarborough is represented by Foley Gallery, New York, Curator’s Office, Washington D.C., and Marcia Wood Gallery, Atlanta, GA. He currently lives and works in Nashville, TN.
